The instrument features a dual orthogonal source, i.e. ZSpray, and enhanced ion optics technology enabling a significantly increase in the transmission of ions from the source to the orthogonal-ToF detector for unsurpassed sensitivity and ruggedness. It can work with either Voptics providing higher than 10, 000 resolution or optics providing higher than 17, 500 resolution.
Routine Exact Mass (<5ppm RMS) measurement in both MS and MS/MS modes of acquisition can be easily achieved with both Voptics and Woptics by using NanoLockSpray technology. It is further assisted by patented correction algorithm that extends the linear range of time-to-digital converters (TDC) from usual 2-2.5 to more than 3 orders of magnitude. With the increased accuracy of exact mass measurement, peptide sequencing from MS/MS data is significantly enhanced since automated data processing and database search rely heavily on the specificity of exact mass measurement.
